Chapter 23:

Almost Kiss 1...

Night time:

Ar:-and now…you both sleep in the bed! I’m goanna cover you both!

He was talking to them in same tone…like they were both his kids…

It doesn’t matter for Khushi…she was so tired after playing that much and crying that much…and getting confused and shy all the day…with his intense gaze…she gave up totally…

Arnav covered them with the huge warm blanket…

Lily still excited due to their game…she’s more excited now to sleep in the big bed with her maa and Paa…

Arnav without hesitation comes too to bed and lay there…

The other side…

Lily under the blanket holds her mum’s hand with her tiny hand and her paa’s hand with the other…

Lily:-I’m happy!

She said taking a deep breath…from excitement…

-we played…we played a lot my paa!...we should live here!

She said finally…like taking a big decision…

Arnav:-oh! but what about the others in RM?

Arnav smiles kissing her forehead…

- yeth…I love them too, they should come here…with us!

Arnav smiles…but he can feel Khsuhi who is still confused…maybe because they are sharing same bed…

-Paa…I love both of you paa and maa!

-I love you too Angel!

Arnav said…and Lily looks at Khushi waiting for her answer…looking with her shinny green eyes…

Khushi:-and I love you more my Lily so so so so so so so much!

That’s when she felt Lily hugging her under blanket…like a baby kitty; she stuck to her…hiding all of her little form on her mumma…she smiles feeling her…but her smile vanished when she looks that he was there looking at her…with his intense gaze, chocolaty eyes…

Lily said under the blanket…

-your command!

He said smirking…closing the lamp beside him…only the side lamp of khushi was lighting now…Arnav starts his story…

His voice was soft and like whispering…Khushi starts by closing her eyes…his voice was a caress to the ear…

Arnav can’t believe that he doesn’t even have the time to finish the story that he can see that both…yes both…are sleeping…

But…damn it…he wasn’t able to sleep…thinking about her…looking at her deep sleep…he felt his blood is boiling…looking at her innocent face…at lily who is stuck to her like that…Arnav goes insane…the fact that she accepts to be the mother of his daughter was a precious thing and he goanna not take advantage of this situation…but why there is only that force pushing him to caress her hair, slowly…to caress her hand…

He stops…he stands up from the bed slowly…

He can’t anymore…he can’t bear being with that such beauty and…just sleep like an angel…he’s after all…a human being and…he knows that if he goanna stay there…he goanna break all the rules…

He gets out…simply lay on the sofa of the living room…

Being the great ASR…and he’s sleeping like a poor man…he is pitying himself…he just closes his eyes…and the memory of the taste of her tears comes back to his mind…he taste them like a mad man and he kissed her cheeks and was about to kiss her lips…

Her lips…he turns the other side nervously trying to sleep, to get away those thoughts but how???

She’s all soft and no doubt her lips will be softer…

Dear God!

And her…neck…he could see her milky neck…and then her perfume, her eyes, the touch of her body close to him, hugging him…he’s troubled and affected…so affected…he’s feeling hot…and sweating…he thought about her more than he should!

He stands up…

He washes his face with cold water…

He opens the window…

Fresh air…for his fever was like a soft breeze, it doesn’t work…

He was used if he wanted something he gets it….and now, what?

He can’t get what he wants…he could get but he’s hesitating…

First, what he wants???

He’s not sure about it…

He wants her…but…what about her?? What about what she’s feeling about him?

He’s not sure…he’s now angry about the fact that he’s not sure…

ASR is always sure…

And now no desire to sleep…even when he lies on the sofa again…

And for his surprise, he finds her dupatta…her pink dupatta lying with him on the sofa…

God…

He touches it…

He smells it…

He holds it…softly, delicately…

The sound of her giggling with Lily…

The fact that she’s more childish than Lily…

He smiles…he could sleep now…

Morning time:

She wasn’t able to find her dupatta…

She looks at it everywhere…

Thanks god, Anjeli sent some clothes to them or else she would be wearing the same outfit and without dupatta…

Anjeli had sent a violet saree to her…

Khushi had her shower and wears it…

He wasn’t at the room…she guessed he wakes up early and he’s working…

No reddish marks in her cheeks anymore…it’s gone…but the mark of his fingers on her wrist still there…she touched it…and unconsciously, she smiles…she puts some lipstick…don’t know why but…she wanted to look like Mrs Khushi Gupta Singh Raizada for real like he said…

She comes to Lily who is still sleeping deeply…pouting her lips while sleeping…was too cute…khushi kissed her forehead…

-my little baby…

Khushi tried to wake her up…caressing her cheek…her hair:

-my Lily…my angel…wake up my baby…you’re not hungry? Mum…yes…I’m so hungry…wake up please…

Lily won’t…she’s deeply sleeping and khushi gets pity of this…she covered her again…and stands up…taking a deep breath:

-ok, I will prepare the breakfast and come back to you, naughty Lily, you should wake up because…

She thought about him being there…what if he tries to….to talk to her like yesterday…

She decided any way to get out the room…

She wished she doesn’t did this…

The moment she gets out and didn’t find him in the living room…she decided to go to the kitchen to prepare the breakfast and for her surprise, she find him, there….

Drinking water while he’s shirtless…

Again????....again she could see his perfect chest all exposed…

She wanted to get out but…

Arnav:-Good morning!

Why his voice at morning was so…so husky??? Even more husky than yesterday….and than any time before…

She’s already breathing heavily…

K:-good…good morning!

She whispered it, looking down…and wanted to go out…

Arnav:-it’s ok!...I’m leaving from the kitchen!

He said understanding she won’t to be at the same place as him and that she’s totally confused…her cheeks starts to be red…this time, due to shyness…

He wanted really to leave the place…

But…

What he should do when her confusedness leads her to some awkward move…

She starts to act all cool…

He starts to walk towards the door where she’s standing…and she starts moving awkwardly, wanting to give him space to get out, she stands right in the door, side way…

How he’s supposed to pass the door…if he goanna get out…he will definitely touch her barely…

But what the hell…he could…he walks side way to get out and at the door…she decided to move to give him more space…

He can’t anymore…

Yesterday…

All the night…

And now…

With that saree…

She’s more than angel…

Beautiful!

She’s not…she’s more than beautiful…

And she’s…checking him out…damn it!...she’s looking at him…at his chest, thought his stomach…also...

“Come in to the kitchen…because I want to eat you up”…It sounds like this…

She nodded positively…she comes in…he was already in…

-coffee in the first rack!

He said…her hair is still wet…

She starts preparing the coffee…he still there…she closed the window’s kitchen…if he goanna stay like this, he will catch cold…she thought…

Ar:-I’m goanna help…

He said standing by her back…

Kh:-you go…to shower!

She said always hesitating while talking to him…

 She turned to find him standing near her…her eyes opened wide…

She’s not worry…not worry at all…no…why to be worried…

But why the kitchen is so small like this?

He occupied all the space…intoxicating the oxygen she still could breathe…

-excuse me!

She whispered wanting to move from there…

-Lily waked up?

He wanted to be sure…

-No!...she’s still sleeping, thought we slept late yester…day!

She realized last minute the trap…he wanted to be sure Lily is sleeping…

But she ignored him…she starts nervously searching the mugs…

She’s feeling his eyes on her…she prayers for Lily to wake up and come fast to save her mum…

He looks at her…bare back…he knows that she tried to make the saree covers a lot of her skin…but a saree will remain a saree…and with her hair on her one shoulder…he could see the golden dori of the saree…

With the back of his hand he wanted to touch her back…but he repents…

He’s so close…so, she’s so stressed…

Cutting the bread to prepare toasts…nervously…and because she was awkward by nature, she cuts her fingers…

-aaaahhh…

She screamed in pain…

two fingers are hurt…and blood was out so fast…

because he was to close…he comes to hold her bleeding fingers…

-you can’t see?...are you…??...you can’t be more careful?

He’s troubled and seeing her blood, he lose it and he shouts at her… he doesn’t see her teary eyes and he just washes the wound with water…

He puts her hand under the cold water…he presses his body in her back, maybe unconsciously but feeling that she closes her eyes tight…she could feel him and it kills…

His hard body was dominating her petite form…he’s washing the wound while hugging all of her into him from behind…but it stopped…

with a clean kitchen towel, he presses hard on the wound to stop the blood…

He wanted to see…it was a deep wound…

Arnav:-damn it!

He saw her tears…the blood wouldn’t stop…

-did it pain???? Why should we eat if you goanna hurt yourself like this!!! Damn with all this!

-I’m…ok (sobs)

He’s shouting like it was his wound…why he’s shouting???

-come!

They come to the isolated bathroom…

He gets out the aid box…

He disinfected the wound…puts plaster on each finger…

-you’re ok?

He asks…she’s silent looking at her hand between his hands…she nodded positively…

-I’m…when I get nervous I shout…I shouldn’t…I’m…

He was about to say “I’m sorry”…but she’s looking at him like a baby…

-I’m ok!

She’s pale…

Unable to look up at his eyes…she looks down at his proximity…at the position…with that position he was so close to her…

Before she could say anything…she was stopped by his insisting lips on her palm…he kissed in the center of her palm…close to her wounded fingers…

-it does hurt, I know!

He whispered against her hand…

She felt a weakness on her knees…

he will not understand, she thought…it’s so new for her all this…why he’s insisting to make this more complicated?…she’s not used to see shirtless hot men early at morning! and now he’s so close, shirtless and kissing her palm…she goanna faint…she knows and she’s such a looser…she can’t even control her breath…a catastrophe!… better she stays like this, not making any move…not saying anything…

she’s feeling another peck on her wrist…

better pray…doing silent prayers…she closes her eyes…

feeling him applying an ointment on her wrist…

she takes a look…oh…he’s taking care of on the red marks of his fingers on her wrist, now…

if he goanna be that soft…and if that medical session will continue…it’s better to keep closing her eyes…

God!

She goanna keep a fast soon…her Lily saves her…

She takes off her hand from his embrace…he took her waist all of a sudden…she wanted to leave…

-I…

-shhh…

She nodded negatively…

He nodded positively…looking towards her lips…

He wanted to peck her lips…but last moment, she turned her face and he pecked her cheek…

-Paa!

Lily form outside called them again…

She tried to push him…but he let off her gently…

And she left him in the bathroom…to run to Lily…and he wasn’t able to retain her…but he couldn’t retain his heart from beating so fast… she turns to look at him leaving the bathroom… searching his towel…and she tries to look only at Lily…

Khushi troubled looks at Lily:

-my baby

-maa, didn’t find you! Didn’t find paa!

-we are just here, my angel, come!

Khushi lifts her…

-little tummy is hungry, na?...goanna freshen up, first?

-haan!

-oh cutie…

Khushi kissed her baby…

-first wash only your face and hands, after eating, I will give you a bath! Ok?

Lily nodded still all sleepy…hair in a mess…she is like a doll, and she’s rubbing her eyes…

He’s fuming…he’s feeling like a frustrated man…and he should work and work to not think about what he did…

Typing on Laptop, making calls, checking agenda, signing in papers, he installed his laptop outside, in the garden and Khushi could see like fumes getting out his head…of course not but she’s sure that if she goanna just talk to him, he would revolt and shou…or he would kiss her lips hard, she’s sure so she keeps calm…

Lily spends time on learning how to write “Arnav”…

Irony of fate…

She has to see Lily trying to draw his name over and over again…for the whole morning…

She called Anjeli, she talked with her and with her buaji and her nani…

She does all but be close from his territory…

Lily was all absorbed…if she got papers and colors, she will not look for more…

Her baby was so calm; she’s blessed to have a baby like her…

Lily was pouting while writing and Khushi was the one disturbing her by kissing her all the way…

-why you’re that much adorable Lily?

Lily just smiles and back to her “Arnav” task…

Time to lunch…

Trouble regains Khushi…

What she goanna do?

Call him for lunch?

No, she will not call him, let him do like in the breakfast…

In the breakfast, he just takes his coffee and leave…

Now, he could have his plate and leave also…

Khushi pouted, all what she has to do is putting some food in the microwave…

She prepares three plates with the ready food Aman brings yesterday…

She puts a plate before Lily and she shouted cutely:

-Paa…it’s readyyy!!!

Khushi couldn’t stop her…

And here he comes…she avoided his gaze…she tried…but wanted to see him…

What’s that?

He’s hardly trying to control…his:

Frustration?

Anger?

Why??

Because he’s ASR…he wanted something but couldn’t get it the way he wants…because he’s ignoring totally what it happens to him…inside him… inside his heart…

But he ate…despite everything with them…silently…he gets out immediately touching barely at the food…

Lily looks at him leaving the dining table…

-Paa is angry!

She confirmed…Khushi nodded positively...

Khushi also doesn’t eat…

How to eat in such conditions?...she knows that if he tries once…he will try twice and then…what she should do???...but also for Lily, she couldn’t let him angry for a long time…
