Lost Love

Chapter 1
about the past...

she runs out of her home…

she’s late, she has to be at office by 8 o clock…

she gets the keys of her apartment and car and a pile of her work’s files and then she runs with all her force to reach her car when she suddenly falls and all her files fall on the floor too…

damn…even if it’s been so many years since she changed a lot but still, she’s still the same…

the same khushi…

flashbacks:

she’s late…she has to be at school by 8 o clock! And it’s 7…the way to school takes more than an hour…

if she finds the bus too quickly, it will be her lucky day…

she puts some books on her purse and takes the other ones on her hands…

a mountain of books…she feels that she will need them all…

it’s been like this since she’s 5 and went to school for the first time…she kept going with multitude of books and documents to school every day!

her classmates around laugh at her…she was heavier than her school bag and on the top: she was brilliant!

A genius!

And this, of course, made the children around her jealous…and so, kind of mean to her!

No one wanted to be friendly and sweet to the weirdo extra shy student of the school: khushi Kumari gupta!

In the other hand, khushi gets the more intelligent and focused the more on her studies! and getting more and more shy...

And now, only two years were left to be in university

The last year in the high school will be the next year

Khushi is 16 years old and nothing changed…she’s the same brilliant, genius student but she has now a friend

Her best friend, the one and only friend: Payal!

She loves Payal because she never judged her

Khushi remembered that she has to call to tell her to not wait for her, before the school door like every morning to that they could enter together…because she will be surely late and she won’t make Payal late also!

With her phone in one hand and her books and purse in the other hand, she accelerated, running with all her force in the street

There are so many people around but all are her neighbors, those people know her very well and some greet her and she answered with just a smile or a wink to the children of her neighborhood!

Suddenly, she doesn’t know what happened but she got crushed against something and all her books fall on the floor as the shock was strong

She was hell angry…

And she starts yelling, out of control, even if this is not herself, she doesn’t usually yell at anyone, even if she’s angry but this morning was difficult from the start and she won’t be later:

-can’t you see I’m walking this way? Couldn’t you be more careful?...are you…

She looked up  at the person who doesn’t answer her and who wasn’t ready to step back to give her some space to pick up her books…

When she looked up…she gets silent…she blushed furiously

It was him!

Him and no one other than him…

Him…him…him…and her heart starts beating so fast so fast

Great! It’s him and she’s yelling like this…perfect! She has to be even more horrible this morning!

How is she looking?

She doesn’t even know! she doesn’t have the time this morning to look  even for one second in the mirror!

Great! Great! He has to be so handsome to make it even more difficult

He doesn’t speak…he finally stepped back and she noticed that his hand supported her arm to stop her from falling on him at the first place

It wasn’t his fault!

It’s her fault…she’s the one who is running fast and in all the senses as the road was hers!

-sorry..sorry..didn’t mean

She mumbled

-are you ok?

He asked suddenly

Oh god!

It was the first time, she heard his voice…that close

She just nodded…she’s feeling like her cheeks are burning from shyness and…she doesn’t know what more to do!

He leaned and picked her books and she leaned too to pick some

-you’re late?

-I…

He handed to her the books that he picked up

-and you too! You should be faster if you want to arrive to school at time!

She added and then it sounds awkward as it’s not her business and as he kept looking at her with his chocolate eyes….he seems amused and it troubled her

-I…I have to go!

She looked for the last time at him and then runs again with all her force, hugging her books against her chest…

Her heart is still beating so fast and she knows that if she look back, she would find him still standing there…looking at her!

She doesn’t know even his full name but she’s…she’s becoming crazy just by seeing him in front of her, it’s crazy!

They went to the same school but he’s in the final year…next year he will be at university!

This thought made her sad!

She doesn’t know why!

He’s famous at school: Arnav does this, Arnav did that!

All the girls went gaga for him but he’s not interested on anyone!

He’s too arrogant and mysterious

Khushi named him Mr Darcy…as he’s…

Wait! She just crushed into Mr. Arnav Darcy and he spoke to her, he stared at her…he…seems amused too!

Wait! What???

later at school:

-what?

-yes! I swear! I swear Payal! It wasn’t a dream! I told you before that Mr. Darcy is living in the same neighborhood so the chances to meet him are high and this morning I met him! I mean…the accident thing!

It was the pause time and all the half of students went to the restaurant of the school and the other to the schoolyard or the library…

Khushi and Payal chooses the background of the almost empty library…

It’s their secret place!

-and he picked my books from the floor! I was about to faint!

Payal arched her eyebrow, smiled and then starts laughing

Khushi beats her playfully

-I’m not joking! You! You silly!

Payal stopped and then held khushi’s shoulders

-khushi! You’re looking so beautiful, you’re so intelligent and nice and kind! and it was so normal that he helped you!

-you must be kidding me! Why a guy like him would get interested in a girl like me! my case is desperate I told you!

-oh please! Shut up!

-I’m not even normal! I have to be so silly, my cheeks has to show him that I’m so shy and nervous! It’s shameful to just stand before him with those spectacles and those plenty of books to prove to him the more that I’m the loser of all this school!

-please! Stop it khushi! Wait!

Payal looked in her purse to find her small mirror and then she handed it to Khushi

-look in it!

-oh no! I’m horrible Payal!

-please! Take a look!

Khushi obeyed

For her, she can’t see what the others see…

Her eyes behind her spectacles are wide and with their hazel colors are just so charming

Her milky skin is pure and perfect as a baby skin

Her lips are naturally pink

And her long hair…

Suddenly, Payal stands up

-are you convinced?...now, come on! the break is off! Time to get back to class!

-but Payal! I’m always the one who tell you all! I confessed for you about my only secret and look! You didn’t tell anything about you!

-I have nothing to tell!...my life is so boring! I have no crush at anyone!

-I can’t believe you!

Khushi pouted

-yes! You can! Come now!

Khushi smiled finally and followed her friend

Payal is a great friend but she never shared her emotions or opinions with khushi…khushi realized this but she wants to always give space to her friend

 to never lose her, she never pushed her to speak

flashbacks ended

But all this was behind…it’s only the past

She’s so confident about herself

She could look at herself In the mirror and tell that she’s amazing…

Still she can’t admit she’s ok…it’s difficult for a girl who lived all her life thinking she’s a loser to believe that she’s ok

Even if she’s late she walked to her room and looked at herself in the mirror
